Judaica Roadshow: Shabbat Edition
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
Join Joellyn Zollman, Ph.D for a curated conversation aboutĀ treasured Jewish objects. Dr. Zollman will use an Antiques Roadshow-style approach to explore how Jewish art and artifacts can be legitimate, articulate sources for understanding American Jewish history and identity. Having worked with the Judaica collections at the Smithsonian, the Skirball Museum, and the American Jewish Historical Society, Dr. Zollman can’t wait to see the Judaica treasures that come out of your closets. This session will focus on Shabbat, so please send us photos* of your candlesticks, challah covers, kiddush cups, havdalah sets, tzedakah boxes, books, and more. Antique and modern, fine art and homemade pieces are all welcome. Together, we will consider how these objects connect to Jewish history, Jewish memory, and the creation of Jewish life in America.
