Life After Death: Posthumous Reproduction and the Legacy of Fallen Israeli Soldiers
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
Recent advances in reproductive technology have enabled the harvesting of male reproductive material posthumously for potential conception. The Israeli Knesset is currently considering legislation that would allow this method to be used with fallen soldiers. Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman will lead a session exploring the Jewish legal and ethical considerations of artificial insemination, particularly as it relates to the ongoing war against Hamas, and will discuss how these technologies intersect with Jewish law and ethics.
