Rabbi Shirley Idelson, Director of the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program at Brandeis University, and Andrew Rehfeld, HUC President, will discuss how the JIR challenged denominational trends of the time, how JIR rabbis responded to the global crises of their era by fighting for klal yisrael, social justice, and Zionism, how the JIR’s ethos came to pervade the Reform Movement, and how seminaries have the power to shape the future.
