Pink Triangle Legacies: Coming Out in the Shadow of the Holocaust
Hosted By: The Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights (TOLI)
In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), we remember the LGBTQ+ victims and all those -Jews and non-Jews – who were persecuted and murdered during the Nazi genocide. Dr. Jake Newsome, author, “Pink Triangle Legacies: Coming out in the Shadow of the Holocaust,” will discuss the Nazi targeted violence of LGBTQ+ people, their struggle for recognition, compensation and commemoration; and the legacy that the emblem, the pink triangle, represents for a new generation of global activists.
