Qesher Book Club: ‘The Book of Jeremiah’

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher presents a conversation with Julie Zuckerman about “The Book of Jeremiah,” her novel-in-stories that follows the life of Jeremiah Gerstler, a political science professor and son of Jewish immigrants. The stories span eight decades and explore themes of identity, ambition, love, and loss, woven into one family’s American Jewish experience. Zuckerman will discuss her writing process, research, and the real-life events that helped shape her work.

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
