Sketches and Stories: Voices from the Holocaust
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
This session explores the stories of two remarkable women whose artistic and literary work offer vital insights into life during the Holocaust. Esther Lurie documented life in the Kovno Ghetto and Stutthof through art, later dedicating herself to preserving those memories in Israel. Maria Rolnikaite survived the Vilnius Ghetto and published her wartime diary in Soviet Lithuania, becoming a rare voice of Holocaust memory in the post-Soviet world.
