The Boy in the Woods
Hosted By: The Center for Jewish History
Winner of multiple film festival awards, “The Boy in the Woods” tells the true story of Max, a Jewish boy escaping Nazi persecution in Eastern Europe. After being separated from his family, Max is hidden by a Christian peasant before being sent to survive alone in the woods, where he encounters Jew-hunters, partisans, and another boy in hiding. A panel discussion with the writer-director, lead actor, and Holocaust survivor Maxwell Smart, whose memoir inspired the film, will follow the screening.
