The Unbroken Thread: String Orchestra of New York City
Hosted By: Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan
Celebrate the work of immigrant and first-generation Jewish composers who worked in the U.S. preceding World War II. The Western European diaspora caused a break in tradition, and, at the same time, turbocharged American cultural life. Featured composers are Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Arnold Schoenberg, and Aaron Copland, and their works will be performed by the String Orchestra of New York City.
