Tour of Jewish Calabria

Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

My Jewish Learning hosted a virtual tour of Jewish Calabria, Italy, a region with a long history of Jewish connection. The region, known for its ideal soil for growing etrogim, is home to Calabria’s first active synagogue in 500 years, Sinagoga Ner Tamid del Sud. The tour explored the Jewish traditions and history of Serrastretta, a mountain village founded by Jewish families fleeing persecution, where Jewish customs are still observed today.
