Understanding Job
Hosted By: Sutton Place Place Synagogue (Manhattan)
Why does suffering exist? How can we believe in God in a world of tragedy? these unanswerable questions have vexed humanity for all of recorded history, and religious traditions have tried to offer their best attempt at an explanation. In Judaism, the Book of Job offers the prime exploration of why righteous people suffer, and what it means to have faith in the face of an unfathomable loss.
