Zohar and Chevrah Kadisha Work — Rav Metivta

Hosted By: Ben Zakkai Institute

In the “Rav Metivta” section of the Zohar, Rabbi Shimon and his companions embark on a journey to olam haba (The World that is Coming) to discover the fate of the generation that died in the desert, challenging the Mishna’s assertion of their exclusion from the afterlife. The Zohar, reflecting on the miraculous experiences and the receiving of the Torah at Sinai by this generation, suggests a less dire fate. The course will explore key excerpts from this section, starting with a general introduction and entry into olam haba, followed by a focus on the role of women in their vision.
