It’s a Thursday, so obviously there is news that Michael Solomonov and business partner Steve Cook are opening not one, not two, but three new restaurants in Philadelphia in the coming months.
The James Beard-awarded chef and cookbook author known for popularizing Israeli food in the States announced this week that the pair, along with former Zahav pastry Chef Camille Cogswell, are opening K’far, an Israeli-style bakery and cafe on June 1st. Solomonov and Cook will also be opening a sandwich shop called Merkaz slated to open in September and a third restaurant called Laser Wolf by the end of 2019, which will reportedly have a similar menu to Zahav, centered around grilling (we’re assuming the name is inspired by the butcher from Fiddler on the Roof, Lazar Wolf).
Just as a reminder, Solomonov and Cook’s restaurant group already includes award-winning Zahav, Abe Fischer, Federal Donuts, Dizengoff, The Rooster, and Goldie Falafel.
