We’re thrilled to announce that, after the success of 2024’s talented cohort, applications for The Nosher’s 2025 Food Fellowship are open.
The fellowship aims to diversify the voices telling Jewish food stories in media spaces through recipes, stories, photos and video. In the 5-part curriculum, Nosher’s staff and contributing experts will provide essential skill-building and educational sessions to help you create dynamic and creative food content. We’ll cover recipe development and testing; how to pitch a story; personal branding; food photography and styling; video and social media; and incorporating researched food history into online storytelling. The fellowship will also provide the opportunity to connect with a cohort of other food writers and content creators.

The fellowship sessions will take place online via Zoom on Monday evenings, Eastern Time. The sessions will run on March 3, 10, 24, 31 and April 7, 2025. Please ensure you’re free on these dates before applying. Fellows are expected to attend and participate in each session.

Wondering if this might be a good fit for you? Here are some indicators that you should apply:
- People are always asking for your Jewish recipes, but you’re not sure how to begin documenting them.
- You have an arsenal of Jewish holiday, Shabbat and/or unique recipes that tell a story about your identity.
- Telling unique family, cultural or historical food stories in written and/or visual form really excites you.
- You’ve been trying your hand at creating videos on Instagram or TikTok but want to hone your skills.
- You’ve been taking photos of your Jewish food but want to understand more about lighting, composition and styling to create more engaging images.
This is a non-paid program, but fellows are encouraged to pitch to The Nosher, and will be paid standard rates for all published articles. Our 2024 alumni continue to explore and share their Jewish identities with The Nosher through delicious recipes, touching essays and engaging cooking classes. Check out some of their work here.
